Next door to our property, a tall tree houses a family of parakeets. The well camouflaged nest rests well over 50 feet above the ground in the crotch of the grey coloured trunk of this huge tree. Only the nimblest young Tico can possible scale this giant tree (if you do not count the dozens of Howler Monkeys who literally live in the canopy). We would never have even known the nest was there had it not been for an observant visitor. These colourful little fellows swoop and fly about like they own the place in the constant search for food. A regular day of bird watching in Nosara will yield a most impressive count of volumes and varieties. Click Here to Return to Photo Gallery
