Bird life in Nosara varies from the ocean loving Pelicans to the dashing hummingbirds. But the Macaw is quite majestic and more rarely spotted. These large. colourful (and noisy) birds are seen regularly in the area. Some are in captivity but others roam freely. Before you visit, pick up a good book on the birds of Costa Rica and do your homework. You will want to be quick at identifying all of our many, many winged visitors. If you are really lucky, you may spot the beautiful long-tailed Quetzal, the national bird of Costa Rica.
